February 29, 2016

Stress is a common topic in our society. We are learning about all of its devastating effects everyday.

One of the places that stress affects us most is with our digestion and the lowering of our metabolic fire.

Even though we know that there are a lot of negative health consequences to being stressed out, we don’t know how to shift into relaxation mode.

One of the easiest ways to reset your nervous system is to do some very simple, yet powerful deep breathing or pranayama as it is called in yoga, exercises.

It is an instant trip to the spa.

It doesn’t take long.

It’s a game changer.

And it is simple.

Try this very easy deep breathing exercise. . .

Sit up tall in a comfortable position, preferably cross legged on the floor.

Inhale to a count of 10, exhale to a count of 10

Inhale to a count of 9, exhale to a count of 9

Inhale to a count of 8, exhale to a count of 8

Inhale to a count of 7, exhale to a count of 7

Inhale to a count of 6, exhale to a count of 6

Inhale to a count of 5, exhale to a count of 5

Inhale to a count of 4, exhale to a count of 4

Inhale to a count of 3, exhale to a count of 3

Inhale to a count of 2, exhale to a count of 2

Inhale to a count of 1, exhale to a count of 1

Sit quietly for as long as you like.

It’s that simple, observe the benefits.

Done, good night!
