Discover The Dessert That Does Not "Spoil" Your Dinner

These are the yummiest little treats and they work for every diet out there. You can be vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian, low glycemic, paleo, carnivore…anything and these are a fantastic sweet treat that is filled with nutrients and won’t deplete your body. I love this dessert because it is really an extention of your meal which is what the dessert should be. All the ingredients are nutritional powerhouses so the dessert is very satisfying. And it is on the bitter side, which is a taste where we are deficient. Bitterness helps to squelch sugar cravings.

 

Please choose high quality, organic ingredients for all of your food, not just this recipe.

 

Coconut Cacao Balls

2 cups of shredded coconut

1 cup of cacao powder

1 cup of coconut oil (stop it, just put it in the bowl)

¼ cup of maple syrup

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 teaspoon vanilla

½ teaspoon salt (mandatory)

1 cup of cashews, walnuts or almonds optional, but I suggest it to round out the nutrient balance of the dessert

 

Put all the ingredients in your food processor at once (I would taste at this point to see if you want more sweetener) and pulse, pulse, pulse until they form a paste  that you can handle.

Form into teaspoon size balls and place on a plate. Put into the refrigerator and watch them disappear.
